THEATRE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE ANNOUNCES TWELFTH ANNUAL SUMMER CONSERVATORY
This year's plays include our adaptation of The Odyssey. The
classic tale of Homer’s epic journey is being directed by BTYP alum,
Gavin Douglas and will be performed by students from grades 4 to 9. The
upper-school ensemble (grades 10 to 12) will be performing The
Neighbors by Pulitzer Prize winning authoress, Zona Gayle. This
heart-warming drama is about Midwestern rural life during the Great
Depression of the 1930’s. The story is simple yet focused on compelling
characters who create an irresistible atmosphere of goodwill. This play is
being directed by new BTYP acting instructor, Katie Condit. The
Neighbors will be performed on Wednesday, July 30th at 2:00 and 7:00
pm with special guest artists, The Pitchtones, performing
depression-era music live on stage to open the show. The Odyssey
